Who am I?
Thanks for taking the time to look at my survey – my name is Naomi Salisbury and I have over 20 years of experience in supporting people who self-harm and developing experience-led services and information, as well as personal experience of self-harm.
Most recently I was CEO of Self Injury Support – a national experience-led charity which supports people affected by self-harm.
Why this survey?
The reason I am running this survey is that I am interested in setting up and hosting a Community of Practice and resource hub focused on supporting people who self-harm, with the aim of creating and holding spaces where people can reflect on their experiences, learn from others, hear about innovation and good practice and feel more confident in offering compassionate, constructive support to people who self-harm.
So the purpose of this survey is to see how many people out there might be interested in this type of Community of Practice and what they think a Community of Practice around self-harm should include.
What is a Community of Practice?
In short a Community of Practice is where a group of people who have a common interest or challenge come together on an ongoing basis to share knowledge and skills, as well as work towards individual and group goals. You can read more about what a Community of Practice might look like here: https://tinyurl.com/CommPracToolkit
There are 16 questions in the survey and it should take a maximum of 10 minutes to complete and if you have any questions about the survey or want to contact me for any other reason I can be reached on na***@na************.org
Thank you for taking the time to complete the survey – I do really appreciate it.
My aim is to run this survey until mid-March and then start planning initial sessions, so if I’m not in touch for a few weeks I have not forgotten you.
